On September 11, 2023, Miao Zhizhuang, Chairman of Zhonghuan International, and Zhao Bin, General Manager of the Saudi Zhonghuan Project, were invited to visit SIRC company for discussions. The talks focused on addressing Saudi Arabia's urban waste problem and future national circular economy industrial planning. As active participants and service providers in the planning and technical support, Chairman Miao introduced the technical features and successful experiences of China, as well as Zhonghuan's advantageous projects in domestic and international industrial development. He also offered professional suggestions and solutions for Saudi Arabia's urgent need to address urban waste issues and expanding pollution control efforts.

Policy Support with Clear Objectives

In 2021, Saudi Arabia officially announced the new Waste Management Law, which regulates the resource recovery and safe disposal of all types of waste to achieve better environmental protection and economic benefits. It is estimated that Saudi Arabia will achieve more than 60% of waste resource disposal by 2030 to 2035. It is projected that over 1 billion tons of waste will require more than 1,300 treatment facilities and landfill sites in Saudi Arabia. SIRC stated that advanced and specialized solutions are needed for waste pollution disposal. They also plan to invest in establishing energy factories for waste disposal to facilitate the generation of more energy and benefits from waste in Saudi Arabia.

Chairman Miao provided detailed information on Zhonghuan's development in various aspects such as municipal waste, industrial waste, and hazardous waste. He focused on explaining the technical features, scale advantages, and resource utilization of the disposal projects already implemented in China. Zhonghuan's industrial development aligns perfectly with SIRC's needs, and we are fully capable of achieving Saudi Arabia's future disposal goals together, bringing about dual economic and social benefits.

Top-level Design for Mutual Benefits

After the meeting, both parties reached a consensus and SIRC will cooperate closely with Zhonghuan to establish a joint venture company, initiating the top-level design and industrial planning for Saudi Arabia's urban waste disposal. Leveraging its strong technological background and industrial advantages, Zhonghuan will not only provide support with independently developed patented technologies but also introduce high-quality capacity projects from China to Saudi Arabia. Together, we will create a distinctive Saudi circular economy industrial park under Zhonghuan's leadership, becoming a core force in solving Saudi Arabia's urban waste disposal projects.
